How bidding works

Let Guam Bid uses transactional proxy bidding. You bid once, at your true maximum, and the system protects that number for you.

  1. 1. Find something local

Browse by category or search. Every listing shows the pickup village so you know exactly where the item is on island.

  2. 2. Set your maximum

You enter the most you are willing to pay — not the amount you want to bid now. Your maximum is never shown to anyone else.

  3. 3. The server bids for you

Proxy bidding raises your bid by the listing's increment only as far as it needs to stay ahead, and never past your maximum. All of this runs server-side so it cannot be manipulated from a browser.

  4. 4. The auction closes on time

At the end time the server closes the auction, checks any reserve price and declares the winner. Nothing is decided in your browser.

  5. 5. Meet up on island

Buyer and seller arrange pickup on Guam. No Pacific freight, no customs paperwork.
